I am a curious, applied scientist with a diverse and broad background and expertise in rugged laser and optical systems. For example, I have built sensors to measure solar irradiance for weather stations and solar panel monitoring; a remote sensing system to measure the stable carbon isotopic ratio of carbon dioxide; a high powered laser system to blast rocks measuring the emitted optical spectrum to determine atomic composition and geologic classification; and soil moisture sensors.
I have the science background to understand physcial phenomena and the engineering background to design and build sensors with an electrical output to measure.
I have worked at research institutions building one of a kind systems. I have worked in industry turning test prototype sensors into production models.
