Red Hat 6
I waited a long time for Red Hat to release it's version 6. I have been a Red Hat user on and off for a long time. Yes, I mean Red Hat and not Fedora. I had access to it via my employer. I had 5.2, then .3, etc on a dual boot machine with the dasturdly but long lasting XP. I did not need many fancy bells and whistles or the latest graphics compiz-fusion stuff. I just need functionality and it stability (hack resistant and doesn't crash very often... weeks of up time).
It is too bad that I left my previous employer before being able to test 6.0. I would have liked to see the guts and take it for a drive. I may never have that chance.
In the mean time, I have Ubuntu working as a virtualbox guest. I almost don't want to admit to that. I have shied away from the 'buntu bandwagon or a long time as I am not a sheep. Plus I still am not sure as to Canonical's motive. However, I needed a bootable CD to show a friend who is not computer savy at all. He liked it and perhaps I have a Linux convert. Since I had the iso I installed it. I much prefere the simplistic nature of ArchLinux but I did not have the time to set it up.
Back at the ranch, I will have to download the Red Hat iso and play a little bit. I'll keep it posted
