For Memorial Day we were about to visit our local Veteran's Cemetary to honor, with flowers, the memory of those who have physically protected us and our freedoms when we stumbled upon an old, small cemetery. This was somewhat dilapidated and very unkempt. There were headstones that were broken, other graves simply had an old metal post as demarcation. In addition many of the stones were from the mid to late 1800's. We were so moved by this little cemetery that we spent a good amount of time there. We cleaned some of the stones, propped up some of the markers and laid flowers by some of the more lonely graves. We laid these flowers in memory of our fallen heros and to honor those in this little cemetery long since forgotten.
